***IMPORTANT UPDATE!!! Due to requests by HQ and local Meetup Organizers, our push should now be strictly focused on canvassing and calling people. Therefore, this concept of the march is shifting accordingly. Obviously, the campaign needs two things to win: MONEY and SUPPORTERS.
In keeping with the original spirit of the National Freedom March, please make plans to travel to one of the Super Tuesday states at some point during Freedom Weekend (Feb 1-3). These states need YOUR feet on THEIR streets to help in their local efforts. If you plan to travel to one of these states during that weekend, please contact the local Meetup Organizers immediately to enhance their planning.
As for the money part of the equation, please use National Freedom Day on February 1st as an opportunity to donate to the campaign (www.ronpaul2008.com). Please note that National Freedom Day also marks Ron & Carol Paul’s 51st anniversary – maybe that calls for a $51 contribution from you!

When he got his freedom, former slave, Major Richard Robert Wright Sr. worked and found success as a businessman and community leader in Philadelphia. He believed there should be a day when freedom for all Americans is celebrated, and along with other leaders from around the nation, he drafted a bill to create National Freedom Day.
Major Wright chose February 1 as National Freedom Day in commemoration of the day President Lincoln signed the 13th Amendment outlawing slavery in 1865. President Henry Truman signed the bill on June 30, 1948.
Now we find ourselves in a struggle to renew our freedom, and the world is watching. . .

WE THE PEOPLE OF THESE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA are
bound together under the idea that free people can govern their own lives
better than some elite few a thousand miles away; that if left to earn our
own keep and keep our own earnings, we will prosper as no society before.
This idea was hard-won for us by our nation's founders and is, by its very
nature, infectious. By adhering to this great calling as Americans, we shine
by example and lead other peoples to also win their own liberty.
